Hi my name is Evan Reid & I am the Westpac Bank Manager of Charlestown Branch. Over the years I have assisted the Chopper through volunteering at events throughout Newcastle and Northern NSW.

I am taking this challenge not only support a great cause but to overcome my fear of heights and show that when your mindset is right you can achieve anything.

This was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up - abseiling for the first time, doing it off Newcastle’s famous McDonald Jones Stadium whilst raising money for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.

I will become a father for the first time later this month and I want to show my child the importance of overcoming fears and the importance of supporting great local charities as you will never know who in your network may need to call upon the chopper for themselves one day.
